I love to read. From now on when people ask me what I do I'm just going to say I read. I read every day, twice a day at least. I read when I have lunch and I read when I go to bed. If I can't sleep or wake early, I read. I try and spend most sundays reading all day.
When my children were babies I read to them and as they got older they read to me. And I loved all those childrens picture books. There are some beautiful books out there but also some not so good and its hard to tell by the cover. So I was pretty pleased to read about this site lookybook through the week. They have a stack of picture books that you can flip all the way through. You can check them out and if yu like them there is a link and you can buy them. Good idea I think as it is hard to judge a book by its cover. No Lynely Dodd unfortunately. I could spend hours in this place. Worth a look if you have kids. I like Bad Kitty - a good read.
17. We Are All Welcome Here - Elizabeth Berg - This was a good story of strong women dealing with adversity until the end, which was too tidy and unrealistic for me. I'll have to read more of her novels because she has a good writing style, but this one left me with a bad taste in my mouth.
18. The Mystery of the Third Lucretia - Susan Runholt - This is a youth mystery that I read for professional development. It was OK as far as youth mysteries go. I'm trying to find a good author to suggest when girls love Nancy Drew and want more books like them.
1. The passing away of my Uncle Bob on July 7, 2008. This was due to surgical incompetence and massive complications arising from that surgery over the following five months while in the hospital.
2. The disappearance of my friend on July 25th, many years ago when we were teenagers. Her murdered body was subsequently found 4 months later. The person who committed this crime has never been found.
3. The passing away of my ex-father-in-law, Jim, on July 30, 2006. As I am not part of the family anymore, I do not know of the circumstances. The obituary stated that family was by his side when he passed, so I assume he was in the hospital. He was remarried, and my ex-husband does not know much of what happened, either. They did not have a close relationship. I know that he was diabetic, overweight, and had survived 3 heart attacks within days of each other when he was younger.
.
is it okay that i danced around to both n'sync and backstreet boy tunes while cleaning our washrooms?
well... in my defence, i was completely alone in the house.
wait - is it okay that i admitted to the world of internet that i did such a thing?
This one is such a treat because I went to google to search for some artwork and there is NOT one mention anywhere online of MEG HINGES - not one - no photos, no blurbs, no nothing. I didn't think it was possible to stump google any more.... I don't know if Meg Hinges is a person or just a band name, but if you like SLOAN or IMPERIAL TEEN you might like Meg Hinges with her/their catchy lyrics and jangly guitar. Ahhhhhh.....
Perhaps most surprising is that Obama has been getting nonstop media attention over the past week with his high-profile visits to the Middle East and Europe. No presidential candidate of either party has been treated to such fawning coverage in the past, with network anchors accompanying them on their overseas trips and cameras everywhere to capture the candidate in formal and informal settings.
The Pope would love to get this kind of press. I wonder what Republicans will do at election time. Will they rally behind a lackluster candidate or stay home? Time will tell.
