dinner at the jollibee
Tonight we had to go pick up the rental car, which B left parked
near the mechanic shop. It turns out that it is literally down
the block from the Jollibee,
a fast-food restaurant chain started in the Philippines. They now have
over 500 locations, and have been known to run McDonald's out of town.
We had actually been to this location before. We both got the pancit
palabok and the halo halo. They aren't the best, but they are
good in their own way.
It seems that they added the Jolly Hotdog to the menu.
Essentially this is a hot dog served Manila style - spaghetti sauce and
cheese on top. They still of course have ChickenJoy - I think
that is what originally put them on the map.
We managed to both get home without getting lost. Following
someone on three freeways can be tricky. Thankfully there wasn't
much traffic.

Did your halo halo have beans in it? UGH! I usually get mine without beans. And there is SPAM on the menu... I should take the kids there!
My halo halo did have some sweet beans in it. I am used to them now. For some reason though only one of them had ube ice cream on it, but B was kind and let me have that one. I like ube.
Didn't see any SPAM on the menu, although I wouldn't be surprised if they snuck a slice on the Hawaiian Burger (along with the slice of pineapple). I saw a woman across from me pick the cheese and sauce off her Jolly Hotdog - it was pretty funny.
I forgot that B actually likes SPAM. Apparently they eat it sliced thin and fried, sometimes with eggs, sometimes with rice. Yuck!
