It's Red Again (at Starbucks).
They are doing this Pass the Cheer. Here is the email I could have sent you (follow the links to learn more):
Your friend has invited you to join the Cheer Pass movement! What the heck does that mean?! It means you’re about to embark on a journey to cheer, where people are nice and friendly and wish each other well.
Each time you do something special for someone, that little act of kindness gets passed on whether you know it or not. Whether it’s a smile, a helping hand or a thoughtful gift. That’s what Cheer Pass Central is all about.
So catch some kindness, pass it on.Join the Cheer Chain here!
Cheers,Your Tradition Keeper
Now you need to do something good.
Take a photo of a tall, cool one.
Okay, I'll play. This was taken
today at Starbucks. It is my favorite drink - iced venti black
tea lemonade, sweetened. At this location they use Valencia syrup
instead of classic, which is a nice change of pace.
I was a little upset though that they were using the hot drink
protectors to write up orders. It seemed wasteful. Or
perhaps given that I had just gone to Whole Foods to drop off my
recycling (where I got more than just an odd look), I was hyper
sensitive.
Yesterday was a stellar day. No, I am not being facetious.
We started by meeting one of B's friends who was just accepted to
the GSB. He was here on a house hunt. We met at Starbucks
for a drink before he headed off to meet with an agent to show him a
couple of more properties.
Stopped at the Farmer's Market on the way home and picked up some
green onions and red potatoes which were reportedly picked two days
ago. Guess who is making potato salad?
Then got a call from Miss J, and met her over at Argo Tea
with B. He was a bit anxious waiting to hear back from this
company in San Francisco. He made the mistake of saying "anytime
after", giving them the whole day to call him back.
He decided to head over to Staples and then home where he finally
got the phone call. The news seems good, but nothing has been
finalized yet. There is a small possibility he could start very
soon, but more than likely it will be mid-August. It is a
contract position which could turn into a full-time gig. We shall
see.
He came back to Argo and we headed over to Ethel's to use up my gift certificates. D was finished house hunting, and also stopped by to chat.
It was about time for dinner, so we decided to go the Star of
Siam. Miss J needed to stop at the ATM, so we agreed to meet up
at the restaurant. I joked as we approached the place that we
might have beaten them because I bet B had gotten lost. Sure
enough, his shortcut took them a bit off track, but at least they made
it (right before we did).
After dinner we dropped D and Miss J at the Red Line. D was
heading south to the Blue Line, and Miss J north to look at a potential
apartment for herself.
We headed east and then south and stopped at Starbucks on the way
home to cool off for a bit. Our door had been painted, but they
ran out of the red paint for the jam. They came back this morning
and finished it.
